Hi all, I didn't get f3 on my first attempt yesterday, thought I would share some feedback. Although there are 11 subject areas and 3 parts of the syllabus, it seemed like there was a lot of focus on capital structure and wacc in its different forms. I would suggest, be 100% expert on geared and ungeared wacc, as there wasn't much formulae available for reference. Dividend decision featured a lot as well, selecting three from five can be tough as there is normally one ridiculous answer and four plausible responses. Section c - company valuation and mergers - features heavily as you would expect, so make sure you know your calculations of valuing a company, and why and in what circumstances you would value a company too. Sustainability reporting is a little wishy washy but I had four questions on that so do take the time to memorise the reporting content, and in what circumstance you would disclose this info ie thinking practically rather than learning stages off by heart.
Fundamentally, it's a really hard paper, don't lock yourself in a garage with a running car when you don't get an exam, it does take courage to sit these papers, lots of people fail them and you can feel useless or stupid for a day or so after. But you have to be prepared to do things differently when you go back and revise after a few days feeling sorry for yourself, don't be tight, spend some money on more online question kits or masterclasses, sacrifice is the name of the game when doing these exams (in terms of time, money and effort), we all have lives outside of studying. Good luck and keep going!

This way you will already have a head start and extra time to focus your attention completely on the pre-seen material when it’s released by CIMA.

Hi All,
I've passed F3 and P3 on the first attempt using self study materials from Astranti.com and the exam kit book from Kaplan. I found Astranti.com's chapter questions really helpful to learn each chapter in depth. I then went through the Kaplan exam kit question book TWICE in full, then completed the mocks I bought from Astranti.com. The mocks are good because you can choose to do them either timed or untimed.

Hi all,
After sitting F3 exam now for the nth time (yes I’ve now lost count) I failed once again. I last sat the exam a year ago and having lost all confidence kept putting it off. Decided to start revision once again and used Kaplan practice kit and Cima study questions but what I found in the exam was that the questions were very different to the questions I’ve seen on previous attempts and in the material I used for revision.
Just wondering if they’ve changed the questions and I need to buy an up to date kit or if I should just book another exam and it’s just a matter of having a new set of questions from Cima’s question bank.?
What do you guys think? Any advice welcome

Should I rebook my exam or buy an up to date question practice kit to aid my revision?

Hi All,I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP. I am a re-registered student, re-started CIMA after a very long break. Last week I did P3 OT test, failed. It says 85(From 150?)marks. I've practiced over 500 MCQs. Astranti, Practicetest academy, CIMA Aptitude Question bank. Followed Kaplan-CIMA study guide and Astranti notes. But I couldn't get more than 35 from 60 Questions , even in the MOCK exams. I need to refresh my managerial level knowledge, specially how to do calculations (IRR, RI, WACC, Interest rate, Exchange rate related etc..)
Which Managerial subject/s I must revise study to get this knowledge? P2 ? F2 Or both p2 and F2? (I have not done F3 yet.) Please share your thoughts and advises. Please..

Hi All, I need your advise? I failed P3 exam last week. 85 marks (from 150?) I am a re-registered student -re-started after a very long break. I did over 500 practice questions from few providers. (Astranti, Practice test academy, CIMA Aptitude Mocks)
Main issue is; I can not remember how to do basic calculations. IRR,RI,WACC, any Interest rate, inflation rate related calculations. To refresh my knowledge, how to do these calculations/and subject matter, which MANAGERIAL LEVEL course should I revise study?
P2? F2? P2 and F2 both?
I have not done F3 yet! Thank you

Which study material you think will be sufficient to pass E3, P3 and F3? BPP and Kaplan are not good enough to get you pass. Any suggestions. Thanks I wouldn't use bpp for P3, there exam practice kit not up to exam level questions
