Hi all, i failed my F3 for the 2nd time. For my revision i am using astranti mocks and practice questions and the assessment on cima study. I also purchased the kaplan kit and went through the first 50. what more can i do.
in the exam i found none of the questions reflected the questions i had done during revision other than a handful so i found myself guessing 80% of the time. I got 87% dont know what that means the breakdown just said i was not proficient.
Please help with any advice you guys may have in helping me get through this paper. Ive booked a resit for next week.

Do you mean you got a score of 87 out of 150 ? This means you were 5-6 questions off a pass. Go through the rest of the Kaplan practice kit and get a feel of the type of questions they ask in the kit. You were not far off a pass so you just need to practice a bit more. Good luck

I feel your pain I failed F3 last week with a score of 97 after reliably getting 80-90% in mocks think it was a bit of poor luck as got loads of very long questions and ended up running out of time and just clicking answers without looking at the questions for the last 10.
Resitting today so hopefully will be more successful as like you the financial expense is hard to bare if you do not get support from your employer, even if you pass everything first time

I too am struggling with F3, I failed for a 3rd time yesterday.
I find myself achieving 90%+ in mocks/work books but when it comes to the exam I always fall around 5-6 marks short. First and second attempts I ran out of time and yesterday I changed my strategy & completed with 15 mins to spare & checked all my work.
I started with BPP lectures & workbooks but purchased a kaplan workbook to increase the number of questions I practised.
Does anyone have any tips/study suggestions that could help me get past this hurdle?

Hi just failed F3 for the third time. I just don't know how to pass it's disheartening. I'm using astranti mocks, Kaplan revision kit and the assessment on cimastudy but it doesn't seem to be enough first time I scored 83 then 87 and now 86.
Does anyone have any suggestions that can help me through F3.

Sad day for me I failed E3 today for the third time, very discouraging considering the exam fees are extremely expensive due to exchange rate fluctuations.
Can someone help me, I want to know the exam technique hoe to answer the obt.I really miss the old syllabus.

I passed F3 OT in my first attempt this morning. My recommendation is to use KAPLAN mock tests and CIMA aptitude one and two to prepare for your exams and I feel they present problems of which difficulty is similar to the ones you will encounter in the real exams.
The exam itself is still challenging and I had some questions concering the withhold tax and forex for which I have little preparation. Libor and interest swap was also tested at least three times. You had to be very familiar with these topics or otherwise, you can easily get lost under the pressure of time limit.

Please could you let me know if you used any materials from Exams4sure? I could see one or two people recommending it plus the company advertises themselves on youtube. The revision kit costs $799 and they say they have real exam questions and guarantee money back if you fail. This is some sort of scam worth reporting to CIMA!

I also used Kaplan materials for F3 but supplemented with the practice kit from Acorn. I highly recommend that you get one and try to a) read explanation of the answers where these are provided b) try to understand the logic behind the answer. This approach really helped me to pass first time.

Hi, All. After passing F3 last month, I took P3 this morning and got a PASS as well. Overall, the effort I put in studying P3 is almost twice as much as did for F3.
I was expecting a fail but the it turns out to be a PASS!
P3 is much more challenging in terms of content coverage and exam difficulty itself.
I still used aptitude 1 and 2 for revision. However, I find the quality of reveision questions were much worse than those in F3 kit.
P3 is a very subjective exam. I also have questions regarding arbitrage and discount cashflow from foreign operation.
I have no better suggestion in preparing for P3. I think you had to use luck unfortunartely.
