Hello everyone,
I have some questions to CIMA Master’s Gateway Route. So, I received proposition from CIMA to participate in Master’s Gateway Route. I have bachelor’s and master’s degree in Finance and Accounting. Also, I passed CFA level 1 exam. I wonder about participation in this fast route. So, my questions are:
1) Is experience necessary to pass Master’s Gateway Route? (I started working as a Financial Controller freshly, so I don’t have a lot of experience in this area).
2) Does knowledge from previous levels (especially Operational level) is necessary to pass Master’s Gateway Route exam?
3) Does books (Kaplan: study text, exam kit, revision kart) from P2, E2, F2, CIMA Management Case Study Text - Managerial level – are enough to prepare to Master’s Gateway Route exam? (I want to learn independently, I don’t want to go to any courses etc. ).
Ps. I want to take the exam on May 2016, so I will have a lot of time to study.
Thank you in advance for your answers.

HI Aleksander
Practical experience, whilst this helps with answering case study questions is not essential. the gateway exam is essentially the management case study and therefore tests application of theory learnt from P2, F2, and E2 Syllabai not operational level. the theory behind this is that the subject matter covered at operational level should have already been covered in your previous studies.
I have found the Kaplan texts to be sufficient to pass the exams for P2 & E2 first time and will be using the notes made from these for the MCS as well as doing industry analysis etc relating to the pre seen.
