Is anyone else doing F2 and just HATING financial instruments? It's really dull, really difficult and just takes forever to get through! I'm slogging through the aptitude test now and I just want to give up, my exam is in a few weeks and I don't know why I'm bothering anymore. It takes forever to identify calculation methods and I know I'm not going to be ready but I can't bear the thought of resitting.
Has anyone got any magic tricks for making it less awful?

Hello friend, I have sat f2 earlier in this year. I found the financial instruments challenging, but only had a small number of questions on them in the exam. The questions were all theory.
You will likely not have many questions in the exam on them. So keep revising and don't give up!

Okay, have you started doing mocks yet? If you only have a few weeks left until the exam then it's REALLY important to start those asap.

Haven't started them yet! I'm still working through the rest of aptitude 2, will start mocks after that. Not looking forward to them, no idea how I'm going to remember everything. Thinking I might just cross my fingers and hope there isn't much on them in the exam...

I remember sitting F2, reading financial instruments was like trying to study in another language. If it cheers you up, E2 is supposed to be easy and nothing else in F2 or P2 so far was nearly as bad, so if you can manage it, you should breeze through the rest of the level.

Thanks for the encouragement! I think part of the problem might be my job doesn't involve much of it so I don't really have existing knowledge or experience to use. Going to keep trying, fingers crossed once it clicks the next exam will be easier.
