I'm coming back to CIMA after a break due to covid. I sat P3 in September last year and came really close to passing, but I've been completely bombing my mocks over the last few weeks (I got 95 in September, now struggling for 80).
I think my theory knowledge is still okay but I'm really struggling to manage time, especially with the longer scenario questions. I know that those ones are supposed to be left until last, but does anyone have any advice on what to do when I actually get to them, to identify issues and likely answers quickly?

I'm actually coming back from a break too, though I sat P3 under the old syllabus. So far as I can tell some of the old P3 stuff has moved to F3 now, which is just my luck as I thought I'd escaped it.
I'd try skimming the answers before reading the question. I know a lot of people advise against that but I find it's helpful as I know what I'm looking for when I go back to read the question, and sometimes I can immediately rule something out which makes guessing a bit quicker.
For what it's worth P3 doesn't look as bad now as it did when we were first sitting it, so keep practising and I'm sure you'll get it!

Does that really work? Everything I've read has said to do it the other way, read the question and try to think of the answer, then look at the actual answers. Solve it myself and then use options to confirm it.

I'd recommend against reading answers first. Read the questions carefully first, picking out all relevant information so that you don't jump to conclusions. If you're already struggling the last thing you should do is throw away easy marks by making assumptions.
Best thing is just keep practising. Get more mock exams, read the reports and solutions properly.
Don't rush it. A lot has been taken out of P3 and moved to F3, and there's a much bigger focus on digital environments now. It doesn't matter how many tricks you have if your knowledge is out of date, so take it slowly and you'll pass.
