I took E1 this week and failed it! It's always the theory exams that I struggle with, people say P1 is hard but I wish I could go back to that! I'm waiting for my breakdown results but want to get straight back for another attempt, does anyone have any tips for the next time?

Do as many mock exams as you can. Use exam practice kits too. Practice and practice until you're feeling really good about it, by the time you're done you'll understand the content a lot better

For e1 you must understand all theory before trying practice exams because the paper is all theory not calculations. Just keep reading reading reading the theory, I read my study text three times before starting mock exams. Also make sure you read the questions more than once before you answer, sometimes they can trick you if you don't read carefully so always re read them and only then give your answers

I know what you mean, the way they word the questions is so odd, it really tripped me up! I had to read some of them three times to be sure what they were actually asking and I still struggled

Failing sucks but you need to learn from it. Be upset today but make a plan for tomorrow, sit down with mock exams and do them under exam conditions. Pay attention to which questions you get wrong, if it's all ones where you didn't pay attention to the wording then you know for sure that's what you're doing wrong. Otherwise it might be you just don't know a topic well enough so go back and read it again.

I passed my E1 resit exam a few days ago with a mix of Kaplan and Astranti materials.
I'd recommend going back to the study text you're using and really focusing on all the theory in it. Memorise definitions, schedules, key terms, anything you don't recognise. For my resit I kept my textbook open through mock exams and whenever I got a question wrong I'd stop and read that part of my study book again to make sure I was really focused on the topics where I was still struggling.
Try to stay calm during the exam. Just take things slowly, do easy questions first so you don't miss out on easy marks, come back for harder ones afterwards.

Make sure you book again ASAP. If you leave it too long it's easy to keep leaving it any you will forget more than you have revised by the time you eventually sit the exam again.
Also be careful with what you revise and make sure you do mocks from all providers, I used BPP and Astranti mocks and there were some things different to the Kaplan study text.

Thanks for the advice and support everyone! Going to rebook my exam now and buy all the practice exams I can. Wish me luck!

I used Astranti mocks for E1. They have a revision mode which gives you the answer after every question and there's no time limit so you can just focus on remembering the knolwedge. The answers are really good, they explain why each option is right or wrong and what mistake you made if you got a wrong answer.
Did two and realised there was a whole subject I lots of gaps in, went back and revised it and then had about ten questions on exam day all on that topic. Wouldn't have passed otherwise.
