Good luck to those of you taking your case study exam this week! We hope your hard work pays off!
It would be great to hear how you found the exam, in particular we would be interested to know...
Did you find the exam easier or more difficult than you anticipated?
How did you do with your time management?
What exam techniques did you find worked well in the exam?
Which of our materials did you find most useful?
Do you have any advice for students taking the exam in the future?
All comments are welcome but please remember CIMA is very strict on publicly sharing information on the exams, so be careful not to put any details about the actual questions on Facebook or the CIMAforum. You are allowed to talk about HOW you found the exam, but you can't say what was IN the exam!

Did you find the exam easier or more difficult than you anticipated?
I have found the exam a bit easier than anticipated. I had a variant which was very in line with what was already analysed by Astranti, so it made answering to the questions much easier.
How did you do with your time management? Regarding time management exam was much easier than the astranti mocks as the unseen information was much shorter in terms of capacity. Usually it took me around 5-7 min to read and understand the info, but due to less text in the exam it took me 3-5 min to get through the unseen information.
What exam techniques did you find worked well in the exam?
It was useful for me to plan roughly the basic elements of an answer in the answering section.
Which of our materials did you find most useful?
I would definitely recommend the preseen analysis pack, which gave me good understanding of the preseen and the possible direction of the questions. I would also recommend doing at least two mocks to get general understanding of the time management during the exam as well as possible questions that could be asked.
Do you have any advice for students taking the exam in the future?
Read quickly the unseen, plan your answer roughly and watch out time. Also better write shorter paragraphs then spend lots of time in one section.

Well this was my second sitting of the MCS after missing out by a mark in November. Comparing the sittings I felt that the questions I had this time around were probably more challenging however I did not leave the exam feeling that I had missed any obvious points, which I am not sure is good or bad as I am certain I will be a way off top marks.

It's was great experience , i do my best. For those who look for may mcs , Please be sure about your time management because this is key factors for this type of exam. You may also take a step up of your reading and understanding power which provide you more help to crack this exam. You need to understand what the main thing question was asking from you and what you write. And last if you have Astranti so don't take any tension . All the best.

Hi there,
I sat the Management Case Study on Saturday.
Did you find the exam easier or more difficult than you anticipated?
It was my first time sitting a case study and I found it a little easier than I thought. It was reasonable.
How did you do with your time management?
No problems really and much, much less time pressure than for objective tests. I didn't really bother too much with planning the answer. Instead I got straight to writing up a rough outline of my answer in the scratch pad and then transferred later to the exam answer section.
What exam techniques did you find worked well in the exam?
Having a solid understanding of the pre-seen material was a help. I didn't do too much revision of E2, P2 and F3 to be honest but found that didn't matter hugely. It was more a common sense type exam.
Which of our materials did you find most useful?
I found the walkthrough of the case study very useful.
Do you have any advice for students taking the exam in the future?
I wouldn't stress too much about this exam. As I said before it seems CIMA is looking to test common sense and business acumen with a little theoretical/technical knowledge thrown in. Really try to understand the pre-seen material well. No need to spend ages revising E2, P2 and F2 but do make sure you're familiar with the ins and outs and advantages/disadvantages of key calculations and theories.
