Hi all,
I am hoping to begin my CIMA very shortly, however I am reading many mixed responses about whether to jump straight into the certificate level or gain AAT first.
I am looking at getting into the industry later than most, therefore have no real academic credentials to speak of in terms of Degree and A Levels. I have been working in numerous roles since school. I have a very entrepreneurial family and these roles have been varied and allowed me a lot of responsibility and have led to some great skills and experiences.
So, I guess what I am asking is whether the AAT should be completed before the CIMA certificate? I figured the certificate was pretty much specifically designed for people like myself and others in similar situations, but after googling the subject extensively I am seeing many people suggest AAT---> CIMA. I would prefer to jump straight in and think that I should be able to cope. I will be able to get time off work to study, so that shouldn't be a problem.
I figure this is the best place to ask because I kind of get the feeling on other boards many people have a bias towards AAT and then even going as far as to try and persuade OP's from CIMA to ACCA. Having said that a similar but opposite bias could be at work here...
