Hello,
I have post graduate (MBA in Finance), I'd like to take the masters gateway route to enter CIMA. I want to know if the Masters Gateway exam only consists of the case study or are there any additional questions (MCQ's or structured questions?) which are directly testing the CIMA syllabus from the management level.
Thanks

Hi from my understanding the gateway route is the management case study plus the whole of the strategic level but best way to clarify is to speak to cima directly

According to CIMA: It does not mention the strategic level because that comes after the management level is passed. My concern is that, is it only the case study or are there objective/structured questions apart from it as well?

Bypasses the management OT exams and goes straight to case study so first to you would reach would be strategic

Bypasses the management OT exams and goes straight to case study so first to you would reach would be strategic There are Muktiple Choice questions or whatever....ONLY case study for the Masters Gateway Exam. Note: There are averagely 4 questions to be answered in 3hrs. You type and respond to your top line managers request (memo, report or brief) per section. You can't return to a section after you submit or run out of time. You get 12 exemptions if you pass...and progress to the Strategic Level for final exams (E3,P3 & F3).

Did you mean to say that there are NO MCQ's and such type of objective questions?

Hi there, As others have said, the Gateway exam is the same as the Management Case Study Exam. However, many Gateway students tend to fall into the same trap. If you have seen the CIMA pass rates for the Management Case Study and the Gateway exam, you will see there is a big difference. Gateway pass rates are typically a lot lower. The main reason for this is that they base their preparations solely on the Case Study material (i.e. pre-seen) whereas the case study/gateway exam does test your knowledge of the whole management syllabus (it is just assumed that gateway students have this existing knowledge). A good suggestion therefore for any gateway student, is to visit the management syllabus module (E2, F2 and P2) to refresh any prior knowledge that they may have. Astranti have all of these online text books for free when you sign up. Alternatively Astranti provide a Management Case Study online text book which summarises the E2, F2 and P2 syllabus areas into one, more-manageable text book: Study text Part 2 here - astranti.com/cima/management/casestudy/studytext.htmlHope this helps Joe
