I've just passed the E2 exam. Took several attempts, though always due to issues with sitting remotely, so feeling confident going forward.
I'm not sure which exam to sit next. I've heard P2 is difficult so want to do it first but have also heard it's more relevant to the case study so considering doing it after F2.
Advice appreciated!

Hey there,
Congratulations on your E2 pass. Technically you should do P2 and then F2 according to CIMA guidance. Personally I found P2 really hard and F2 not as hard but it really depends on your personal preferences. I would say that both are just as relevant (along with E2) for the case study. There are posts about the I can statements which you need to know for the case study on here so it is worth taking a look. The advice I can give re P2 is you need to practise all types of questions. You will have calculations but you also need to know the definitions as well. F2 again requires calculations but you need to know the elements well. The P2 syllabus is extensive in my opinion so do set yourself plenty of time. I am not sure where you are based but for both I would advise you to sit them in a centre. They are both time pressured and I personally could not have done either without a white board. ( You can only use the online scratchpad at home).

Thanks terracotta. Unfortunately sitting in an exam centre isn't an option for the next few months at least, so I may go with F2 and hopefully centres will be open again by the time I reach P2. Bit of a shame, I normally prefer to do hard exams first - was shocked at how easy the E2 exam was, I was told in advance it was far harder than E1.

Hi Shraffnir, Fingers crossed the exam centres will open soon. I really am hoping they will after the schools go back. I just do not think the online testing alternative is fair to students - have had some very unsatisfactory experiences. I know Astranti has free resources and there’s material on YouTube so if you can’t decide between F2/P2 you will be able to see examples of the subjects being assessed.

Fingers definitely crossed. I appreciate it's trying to deal with a bad situation but there have been so many problems, I think I struggle more with the format than the exam itself. Definitely going to leave P2 now that I've thought about it some more, thanks for helping me to that decision.

No problem Shraffnir. Yeah the home testing option needs to seriously looked into by CIMA as the exams are nerve wracking enough without adding unnecessary stress into the equation. If you do decide to study F2 I recommend the Kaplan textbook and P and R kit. Best of luck.
