The November exam is fast approaching and I would expect most of you to have started your revision in one way or another. However, before it gets too late, I wanted to make you aware of the importance of having a revision plan and how it can be effectively conducted...
1) You should write it down
2) Monitor and track your progress
The act of writing your plan down creates the commitment to the goal that is not there when it's just a vague idea in your mind, while the monitoring of progress keeps the plan and the goal in mind and enables feedback to be applied, whilst also acting as a motivator when you tick things off from your progress list. When training for a marathon a missed workout can quickly be replaced by another to make up for it. The same is true of people taking their exams.
In my many years of teaching, I know that students who plan the number of hours of work they do each week have a clear goal to work towards and are far more likely to pass their exams. Tracking progress each week enables students to keep focused and stay motivated. In preparation, try scheduling in a plan of what work will be done each day, and monitoring your progress and commitment to the plan. A well planned and structured revision process will ensure you cover enough of the key areas in enough detail!
Free MCS Mini Mock Exam
To give your exam preparation a boost, our MCS expert tutors have created the Mini Mock exam - which is half the length of a regular case study exam. The 90 minute exam gives you a chance to test your knowledge, and also allows you to see what our full mock exams have to offer.
Many students have used the Mini Mock exam to get their first indication about what the real exam might include. Our full mock exams cost £19.99 each, so why not take advantage our free Mini Mock?
