Hi Everyone,
Just saw this on the CIMA Strategic Study Buddy Group on facebook: www.facebook.com/groups/CIMAstrategiclevelstudybuddygroup/
It may be interesting to anyone who has taken P3 and F3 or is thinking about taking the exam soon.
Certainly the statement below lines up with a lot of the things I've read about P3 and F3. In Astranti's survey on the OT exams, P3 and F3 appeared to have pass rates of around 30%!
BPP Update – CIMA P3 and F3 Objective Test Examinations
"This communication provides our up to date understanding of the issue and some practical advice for our current P3 and F3 students.
We received our pass rate reports for the 2015 OT papers in the middle of April, and they showed that the results for P3 and F3 were lower than the other seven OT
papers. (CIMA’s transition rules mean we cannot share any pass rate detail externally until July 2015). We immediately flagged our concerns to CIMA.
Given the pass rates CIMA themselves were seeing across the entire market for P3 and F3, and the feedback they have received, P3 and F3 have been prioritised in their
planned review process, and an update from CIMA is now expected in the middle of May.
Until we receive further information from CIMA below is some practical advice based on our understanding of the current situation to enable you to make as informed a
decision as possible:
You may decide to delay sitting the P3 or F3 exam until after the update from CIMA. To support you through this, your Lifetime Pass Assurance will not be
affected should you sit your CBA more than three weeks after the end of your BPP Programme. You should continue to study during any delays to ensure you are
as prepared as possible for when you do sit your CBA (see practical advice below)
The most common feedback we’ve received is that the P3 and F3 exams are extremely time pressured, but it is true to say that some students are passing these
OT exams first time. So, if you do sit your CBA before the announcement from CIMA, then we recommend you:
Whatever your decision BPP will be extending your online access for at least another three months.
Please be assured that it is in situations like this that our sense of duty to you as valued students is higher than ever, and that we will continue to do all we can to support
you through to qualification. We will issue a further communication when CIMA have provided their expected update in May.

- Ensure you have completed your Achievement Ladder and attempted all the practice questions (more than once if needs be) within the Syllabus Topic
sections of MyBPP. - Are comfortable you can deal with significant time pressures - you need to be able to read scenarios, digest the information and apply to the specific
question. - Review the explanations for all your practice questions very carefully – even those you get correct. This will deepen your understanding of the syllabus.
- Flag any difficult/complex questions and any that contain very long scenarios as you work through the CBA and return to them at the end.
Whatever your decision BPP will be extending your online access for at least another three months.
